I am a freelance writer, guidebook author, Spanish teacher, trip leader, location scout, husband, and father. I believe in the philosophy of Outward Bound and the ideals of its founder Kurt
Hahn and I try my humble best to employ them in my writing,
traveling, and teaching.

I specialize in Central America travel, especially in Nicaragua and Belize, and I am based in Boulder, Colorado. My biggest trip was a 16-month round-the-world honeymoon, the inspiration for my next book.
I can provide feature articles, destination/service pieces, web content, and images from my large stock of Central America photos. I am fluent in Spanish and also specialize in tourism for all budgets, adventure travel, environmental issues, and volunteering abroad.
I am available to give talks about my books and travels with stories, slides, and live music. Contact me to arrange an event at your bookstore, fundraiser, or home. I can also talk to your students or group about volunteering abroad, and help prepare them for their upcoming trip.
