Though I’d driven by it many times, my first time inside the Boulder Marriott was to sample their annual Thanksgiving buffet dinner in the hotel’s Canyons restaurant. They put on a few of these holiday meals throughout the year, a nice touch for guests who are far away from home, or for those who live in town but are just looking for a different setting for the holidays.
I looked around the open bar, restaurant, and game room space as a I enjoyed juicy slices of slow-roasted turkey with mashed potatoes and sage butter gravy. From our table by the windows, I can appreciated the multi-use space, which was being used my various guests, lounging over coffee, cocktails, or dinner.
After our meal, my wife and I taught our daughters how to play pool and we watched several women’s university volleyball teams file through on their way to check in. It was all very relaxed, par for the course in Boulder.
There are a few Marriott iterations around town. This one sits right at Folsom and Canyon, close to the University of Colorado campus and also downtown shopping. It’s not right downtown on Pearl St., but there are very few hotels in that area which is really only a few blocks away. Some of the Marriott’s rooms have balcony views of the Flatirons, and there are also one- and two-bedroom suites with separate living and sleeping areas, plus an on-site spa, pool, and fitnesss area.
