For the second year in a row, my daughter and I rode our tandem bicycle down the hill, behind the North Boulder Rec Center, toward the hospital, the streets as empty as could and then—BAM! The Bolder Boulder 10K foot race — 50,000 people! — is streaming before us, an actual river of humanity. We find a spot in the shade along Casey Hill and watch it all go by. We discuss possible costumes for when we run it one day and can’t decide between ballerinas and mariachis.
